School Workshops

Sticky Fingers visits the classroom!

Sticky Fingers Workshops are an invaluable and fun way for schools to underline their commitment to the health and well being of their children.
Workshops are adapted for on-site school enrichment classes during or after school. These are taster classes and require no cooking. The classes are designed for 1 hour. Children use all their senses to explore different varieties of healthy foods that they may not eat at home.  Children can discover that healthy foods make delicious snacks.
Each unique workshop is designed with a language aim suitable for the age and English level of the students.

Sticky Fingers takes into account the age of the children, the group size, the location and time of the workshop. The lesson plans are all themed with clear learning objectives.  For example the  Fruity Flowers workshop is tailored to 3 and 5 year old children (educació infantil) with the target language of colours.  It´s a taster class which requires no cooking and can be taught in nurseries and schools.Sticky Fingers supports the Fruita al Cole education initiative campaign, the workshops reinforce healthy eating habits and nutrition awareness.
New language is presented, practiced and produced through songs, chants and games providing  a fun and interacting setting to learn. A positive fun experience with food increases the likelihood that they will try and enjoy new Healthy foods.

Sticky Fingers workshops are designed for small groups to maximise participation, therefore school workshops are recommended for a maximum of 15 students.

The selection of workshops aim to teach useful chunks of language along with specific vocabulary areas which will be relevant and close to the child´s world.  The workshops promote oral/aural skills and encourage communicative practice through games, songs, group and pair work.
Workshops recommended for schools are:
Fruity Flowers
Happy Crackers
Blindfold food Challenge
Sandwich Sticks
